At Miscarriage of Justice Canada, we are dedicated to uncovering the truth and restoring justice for those wrongly convicted. With a deep commitment to fairness and integrity, our mission is to advocate for individuals with reasonable grounds to conclude that a miscarriage of justice may have occurred in their case and that it would be in the interest of justice to make an application to the Miscarriage of Justice Review Commission, seeking exoneration.
The applicant must have been found guilty of an offence under an Act of Parliament, or is a dangerous offender or long-term offender, or is the subject of a verdict of not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder.
We do not accept applications dealing with verdicts relating to homicide which is the purview of Innocence Canada (https://www.innocencecanada.com/application/)
We thoroughly examine cases of possible miscarriages of justice, reviewing the case history and gathering evidence to support applications to the Miscarriage of Justice Review Commission and if successful to argue new trials or appeals.
Our team works alongside legal professionals to provide advocacy and representation for those seeking justice.
We offer resources and support for individuals and families affected by miscarriages of justice, helping them navigate the challenges they face.
We advocate for changes in the justice system to prevent future miscarriages of justice, promoting fairness and accountability.
